Which Car is better a 2005 Mazda Tribute or a 2005 Nissan Xterra?

I'm buying my first car and the two cars im looking at are a 2005 Nissan Tribute and that car has 53,000 miles and will cost $12,500 with taxes and the Nissan has about 56,000 miles and will cost about $14,000 with taxes and i dont know which is the better buy? Can you please help?
 
go for the mazda tribute it getes better gas mileage than the xterra and isnt as high its also cheaper and has a japenese engine which will run for a long time and over all mazda is a good brand
