i have a96 toyota avalon i went to change my breaks and the break pads were fine it squeals every time i stop and slides. the breaks in the back were worn down to nothing could it have back wheel breaks?

Your car has disc BRAKE pads front and rear. As a matter of fact all cars and trucks have four wheel brakes.

I don't understand your sentences at all. First you say: The brakes are *fine but it squeals when I stop and slides. The brakes in the back were worn down to nothing could it have back wheel brakes?

Buy nothing other than Toyota brake pads, anti-rattle clips and pad shims at a dealer parts counter. EBC brake rotors are far better than Toyota OEM brand. You can find those at: autoanything.com, autopartswarehouse.com, partstrain.com and autopartsgiant.com.

I've hot a bad feeling you don't have the tools or experiance to do a complete brake job on your car. There's more to a brake job than slapping on new rotors and pads.
