Im 17 and im looking to buy a motorcycle but im not sure which one would be a good start. Currently i ride my cousins suzuki 100. Would the ninja 650r be too much?

Maybe a Ninja 250 or 500 first depending how big you are. If you're midsized like 5"10 I recommend a 500 or so at first and if you feel it's too small than upgrade to a 600, 650 or 750... I'm 5"11 165 and I think a 600 is perfect. I had a Ninja ZX-10 1000R and it was too heavy/big for me...

Take the MSF riders course before you do anything.And before you buy a bike like that check on insurance costs.Unless you pay cash for it they are going to require full coverage insurance.And at your age that is going to be very expensive.So do a little research before you get a nasty surprise that you can't afford it.A Suzuki 100 and a 650r don't have much in common besides both having 2 wheels.I'm not saying you can't handle it but it wouldn't be my choice for a first bike.

Sv 650 isnt the best looking of bikes, but are great for a first "bigger bike" as they restrict well, and when you take them out you can still hit 0-60 in just over 3 seconds.
