Which author from this list should I choose for summer reading?

I have required reading for school and I am entering 11th grade.

I don't know anything about these authors' writing styles,
so anything you know would be helpful.
Specific book selections by them would be great as well.

Preferably, I would like a book that's on the shorter side, but if the book is good than I really don't mind.
