Which artists are the biggest bandwagon hoppers or theives of others ideas?

Yeah, but she doesn't pretend to be otherwise so she's okay in my book, kind of a female David Bowie.

I kind of think the Beatles fall into the bandwagon jumper category, but people always get upset when I suggest that.

It was accidental. Dexter wrote the song, then people said it sounded similar to that beatles song so he listened to it and realised the similarities. Still a crap song though.

Coldplay will at least admit their borrowing off of Muse and Radiohead but is being influenced the same as blatant plagiarism...I think not.

Very little in music can be truely "original". I dont think interpol being post british punk revival is really jumping on much of a bandwagon, Yes post punk/garage revival has become almost a cliche now but what they have done with those influences is pretty original within itself (non bias, not a interpol listener)

Id say my most disapointing bandwagon jump was metallica jumping onto the alternative bandwave, forming "alternica" and producing the black album and so forth.

Recently locally in perth western australia, luke steele of the sleepy jacksons who I am quite the fan of teamed up with some ****head from a electronic outfit called pnau. Selling out quality alternative to ride the UNSTOPPABLE wave of ****ty "electro" music that is plaguing australia.

I'm surprised a lot of mainstream pop music hasn't been mentioned other than Madonna. Pretty much all of them now have this sort of electronica side dish to it...or am I just retarded? I'm leaning towarRAB the former.

It's true that very little in music can be truly 'original', as with any form of art. There's always going to be an influence behind it. But some artists go way to far.

Oasis, I'd definitely have to agree with.
Jet also come to mind, I remeraber when I first heard them and everybody was going on about how original and cool they were when to me that just sounded like they were totally ripping off numerous previous rock artists.

And what do you mean by bandwagon hoppers?

Grunge was pretty good to begin with. BanRAB like Mudhoney made great underground music that had a real sense of purpose. But im talking about banRAB like Creed and Silverchair that gave the genre a bad name.
