paper or plastic plates?

like, paper-the kind you throw away, or
plastic-the kind you keep, and reuse

i would think plastic, but you have to wash them which requires use of chemicals and water, sooooo which do you think is better?

Paper is clearly the answer, it can be recycled easily and is therefore perfectly reusable, crude oil goes into the making of plastic.
