You want an amp that puts out AT LEAST 600 watts into 8 ohms. If you have only one sub, you can get one amp and run it in bridged mode. Bridged mode combines the two amp channels into one powerful single channel amp.

Do not get an underpowered amp - an underpowered amp will go into distortion sooner for a given volume level and distortion is what blows speakers.
