Which 50s sc-fi films should they do a modern remake ?
here are my choices!

Them
invaders from mars
quatermass 1
quatermass 2
quatermass and the pit
forbidden planet
earth v flying saucers
the thing ( again! or possibly a prequel)

My vote goes to Them.

Even though it would probably just end up a CGI-w*nk.

-"I, for one, welcome our new insect overlorRAB"- :D

yeah it gets complicated ! i know i suppose there many films that have been remade more than once! another one is the blob but as someone has mentioned already on here the invaders from mars remake is in the 80s over 20 odd years ago and the the blob similarly so one could have a remake of a remake of a remake ! :) the quatermass and the pit film in the 60s was a origional film version as the 50s version was made for tv as far as i know !

None of them - they should think of something original - although I realise the word 'original' has been surgically removed from both the minRAB of hollywood execs as well as the hollywood lexicon.

On the other hand Giants Ants.

What I really want to see is a good metal on metal land battle between aliens and human driven tanks.

Hollywood doesn't have any, not in sci-fi and horror anyway.

It's all remakes of old movies or of movies made in the Far East. Or endless, pointless sequels (Saw etc.)

All of them. Really, really badly.

At least, that's what they'll probably do, in this age of unoriginality...

They're even remaking "Oldboy" :(

That was him, I remember watching it as a kid and being fascinated now I probably would laugh most of the way through it.

Then again a remake would be done so much better  or not if they use Bruce Willis.

think WHEN WORLRAB COLLIDE

think a mix of DEEP IMPACT and ARMAGEDDON

think of the EARTH getting a GOOD KICKING

think THREE AND A HALF HOUR BLEEDING EPIC

think one
think twice
think STOP MAKING OLD FILMS UNLESS YOU HAVE A TWIST ON THE ORIGINAL IDEA

oh, and i like the idea of big budget remakes of z-movies ..... how about a remake of GALAXY OF TERROR???

No. Please do not give those dead-eyed Hollywood execs ideas. I wouldn't mind a super gory sequel to The Thing though... As long it involved Kurt Russell trying to save an almost totally assimilated world, while wearing a sombrero.

But who would play (a minor movie hero of mine,) Peter Stenning? Keanu..? :D
