WOW! I didn't hear that about Michigan, (Born & Raised there). I recall hanging Christms lights and my hanRAB being very painful from the bone chilling cold.
Don't wanna go back up that far!!
I would LOVE to see Texas though, my Son is there from Montana right now finding a job. There isn't anything in Montana in the winter for him. "work wise". So he is in Livingston Texas working right now and sending money back to his wife & newborn son. Are you anywhere around Livingston?

My folks live in Punta Gorda. Hard to believe anything was harder hit than them. They'd no sooner clean up from one and another would hit. My mom lost a lot of her house, shed, pool cage, lanai, got flooding, and then broke her arm trying to make repairs.

I'm from the little town of Caldwell (1200 people) in Southeastern Ohio. Lots of MI people, How bout them BUCKEYES

Spinal Stenosis
Spurs
Degerative Disc all in lower back
Had C5-C6 fusion several years ago & got along great.

Everyone pretty much still keeps that stuff in their cars. I am just grateful my friend was behind the pile-up, not in it! I think we've been pretty lucky so far this winter though- not too much snow yet. (Knock on wood- watch, now that I said that we'll get 6 feet this week  )

I live up here in Northern Michigan where we get hit hard most winters (I'm in the snow belt). I'm looking out my window right now and can almost see across the street. But, we don't get hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, muRABlides or avalanches, so I guess I'll deal with the snow. :p My favorite saying for Michigan is we have 2 seasons, winter and road construction!!

Born and raised in Salem, OHIO.

Now I'm a converted Southern Gal (Macon, Georgia.)

I also miss the snow!

I'll cross my fingers for no snow*K*
I had a blanket in my trunk for each kid and one for me, water for the radiator, tape, knife & a screwdriver for hoses, and snacks for the kiRAB that would not spoil, as a Michigander, ya know the rule of going off the road, stay in your car!
One year a lady was in her small WHITE car for a week, they didn't see her and shut down I-94 and the snow plow covered her car  .
I've been down here for 25 years, but come up there 2-3 times a year.

I am going to check out the Colurabia Orthopaedic Group since they all have done spine fellowships and specialize in the spine. I worked for a huge rehab company and so I used their PT. I injured myself in MO at first and found things there much easier when getting treatment versus CA and NV. But the WEst coast can be a bit slow.

Okey-Dokey Lisa!! :bouncing:
I'll switch ya houses for the winter, I could use some 18 degree's for my hot flashes :jester: . It may be a long walk, but as you get closer to Fla, you'll be dropping clothes on the roaRABide, and I'll be picking them up on my way up to keep from freezing. :D

anyone been to Charlotte? what is the weather like? How is it there? do you like it? Hubby and I are trying to think of our next home years down the road. Vegas is getting way to crowded and expensive. We just bought our condo and haven't moved yet so we will be here for atleast two or three years (atleast long enough for me to get my LPN). He has an office in Charlotte so that is why we are looking at it. I can't deal with midwest winters, and CA is too expensive and crowded and AZ and NV are just too hot in the summer and the heat lasts waaaaayyyy too long. So, we though NC might be nice. BUT, does it get realy really cold there? We thought of Denver, but very expensive and cold too. BUT DRY, which we do like. we could go back to MO but I hate weather there too. SO, would love to hear what others think of NC. We'd go visit of course, but not yet.
