Where's Blake?

What - he's not good enough for the Crystal Palace?

You say some pretty mean and tasteless things about him. You and Andy
both. I don't consider that good-natured jabbing. There is point
where you cross the line. And you kept running. Kinda like when
Forest Gump made that touchdown.

I'm sorry to read that! I had been missing you, too, but I've not had a
chance to read everything lately. I saw you post after I was wondering,
and thought maybe you were bored with this for a bit! I hope you feel
better soon.

What on earth are you talking about, nb? I've been wondering about
Blake and now Ophelia has confirmed. I miss his wit.

OK, I have made some complaints about your posts on this group (but
hopefully nothing personal). Most of your posts are not a problem with
me. You are not currently in my killfile.

Sometimes people make complaints about some of my posts. I try to look
at those complaints objectively, because I certainly make my share of
mistakes. I even apologize sometimes!

We routinely give hospitalized patients IV meds now just to help avoid
stress ulcers for example.

Yup, slicing ones hand with a knife predisposes one to infection
too.... absolutely boozing and smoking can cause damage that becomes

constantly searching out weak spots. Not only do boozing and drugging
damage tissue, they also compromise the immune system.

I wasn't implying that it made you bad or that you take it seriously,

Wikipedia says many of these ulcers are caused by H. pylori.
It doesn't say all of them are. It says causes include smoking
and NSAIDs. I'll bet some of those people were suffering
from arthritus or gout and were abusing aspirin or ibuprofen.

Yikes! That's really serious. No wonder he was off the net
for a while. Lots of people die from this. Doesn't say anything
about alcohol or cancer.

The Wikipedia page on stomach cancer doesn't say anything
about ulcers causing it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stomach_cancer

But it does name both alcohol and smoking as causes, as well
as H. pylori. And it favors men 3 to 1 over women. Nuts!
I better lay off the Advil. This is even worse than a bleeding
ulcer.

That's why I asked if 'h. pylori' was the culprit. Most often ulcers
are now treated with antibiotics, so I've read. It wasn't until the
past decade or two that it became known that 'most' ulcers were actually
caused by bacteria, particularly 'h. pylori'. Until that point, it was
thought stomach ulcers were caused by diet. The diet-concept has been
debunked, for the most part.
