My headunit is a DEH-2900MP
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/Source/CD-Players/DEH-P2900MP?tab=B

and its Preout voltage says 2.2 volts. My amps say they are 200Mv-8Volts.
Where should I set my gain at.
My amps are OVN2-2200 gothic amps

thank you
I usually have the volume at 52-58 and currently the gain is set a little under max. and I don't think its clipped yet. Is clipping just a distortion or is skipping in the sound and music?

turn the volume to 3/4 volume or what u usually listen to it at. the play a song that has A LOT of bass.
turn it up slowly until it plays with out clipping. if it clipps the sub sounds distorted.

if u have a CD of some kinda that u can play a 50Hz tone u can use a volt meter to set ur gain also, but doing what i said first should be fine
