Where to Buy Nokia E71-3 Thread!

A thread about WTB -1 and -2 have been created, how about the -3 version? I'm from Montreal, Canada and Fido/Rogers use mostly HSDPA 3G 850mhz from what I heard. Since the e71-2 is always delayed, the -3 seems to be a good alternative. Also, it doesn't have the chinese character, which is also a plus vs the -1 version. Does anyone know where I can get the e71-3 (ships to Canada)? Thanks.

i think the -3 will be available later on with the -2. A lot of retailers show they have the 850/2100 version but when i call them and they look on the box all of them say thet only have the 900/2100 version :(

I bought one off of eBay and it is the 850/2100 3G model which is the Nokia E71-3. I got lucky though because the seller is a cell phone tester and he only got to test for other companies and was used for less than 2 hours. I'm assuming they haven't been mass produced yet.

I have requested some ebay sellers in Australia ... I'll let you guys know. If anyone here knows a big store offering them please post here!

Most of the ebayers dont have a clue what they are selling... I ordered and had to send back 2 of them because they told me it was the 850/2100 and it wasnt. So be careful and ask for a photo of the side of the box.

Wherever there is 850 and 2100 3G. I know for sure that Brasil has 850/2100 and Australia. Not sure about Singapore/Malaysia ...

Very quiet here. I still have not seen an E71-3 and I am tempted to go for an E71-2 even though it won't support both European and Canadian 3G which I'll eventually regret. Anyone know of any online sites selling them yet ?!?

It has nothing to do with what works best for the other poster. The NAM model is made for North America. If the 850 band gets saturated with users it will change over to 1900. To spend $500 on a phone and not have the 2 bands that work in Canada is crazy, IMO.

from what i understand, and i am not a network expert, rogers uses 850 for 3g more than 1900. there might be a few areas that still use 1900 for 3g but most areas are only using 850 for 3g, so when there is no 850 3g coverage you will fall back to 1900 edge speeds. there are many e51 users that have posted that they have excellent 3g coverage with 850/2100 3g versions of the e51.

and the 850 band handles a higher capacity of users better then 1900, its one of its benefits

According to the Rogers Network Specialist that I spoke to, if the 850 band gets saturated with users, it will switch over to 1900. The 1900 band still has 3G coverage in some areas, but he didn't say where. I'll re-confirm this information. My concern is that Rogers is concentrating mainly on 3G phones. Eventually the 850 band may not be able to handle all the users, which is why they kept the 1900 band with 3G in some areas.
