Where The Wild Things Are!

The American accent of the Wild Thing threw me... I know the book is American, but to me they don't look American. I hope it's not too schmaltzy.

oh, i am so looking forward to this film, i love spike jonze's work, and this looks like it's going to be ...... wild!

i thought that, then i realised that because the kid is american, any imaginary characters in his mind are bound to speak with an american accent, like him. so it makes sense really

just saw this , it's very good .

I think a problem some people may have with it is that it doesn't really have a plot , there's no 'wicked villain' to vanquish or treasure to be found , it's really just about the characters who seem to represent the emotions of the boy , it's like watching children at play and the way they fall out and feel left out , get angry , want trust etc.

Good quality screener now available online!

Mind you, I gave up half way through as after enjoying it initially I found it dull and meandering as it went on.

The problem is the source material really doesn't have much of a plot, unless the film went and totally made one up this would always be a problem for some.

For me on the other hand it's going to be a joy to see this on the screen. no plot or not, the book was one of my favourites as a kid and I still have a couple wild thing stuffed toys about some place which i loved when young. If you are coming into the whole thing new I can understand people being disappointed, if like me you are coming in from having the book as a child I can't see you being disappointed.

I saw this earlier today and really enjoyed it. So glad that Spike Jonze was the director... anyone else and I suspect they would have tried to make it more kid-friendly, which it certainly is not.

I thought the Wild Things were incredible... the way they moved and the way they looked. You really couldn't tell what was CGI and what wasn't. And the soundtrack was outstanding.

I saw it today and enjoyed it. My five-year-old though got restless towarRAB the end. I had explained to him before hand that it would be different from the book. He said that he enjoyed it though.

saw this film last night. Gotta say, easily the one of the best films I've seen in the past ten years, possibly one of my all time favourite films. An amazing film, complexed and poignant. Certainly not a children's film and dare I say it, maybe too contemplative a film even for those under 30 (the MTV generation:p).

And yep, still the best use of CGI I've seen in any film.

a 10/10 from me. :D
