My wife is letting me spend up to $800 dollars for a new bike, I would like a road bike that is built for speed, I love to go fast. My only use really would be to go to and from work (15 miles each way) and the occasional weekend ride. I would like to know what components I should look at, frames, forks, brakes, derailleur. Also, I am 6'3" (34 inch inseam) all the bikes I look at on ebay seem to be for shorter people or I just may be measuring incorrectly. If somebody could give me some Ideas of what bikes to look at or websites I can go to research and learn correct size. I would love it

your height 60-61cm frame. go to local bike shop for info. buy from local. you'll need their services in the future unless you can repair and maintain your self!. they may have a new model from previous year at a good price. 800.00 will get you good used 105 components. newbike mid range components.

Visit the local bike shop, they all have good entry level bikes. Bike fit is the most important thing. At that price point you will not have much of a choice over components. Look at Trek, Specialized, Giant, Fuji, Cannondale, Raleigh, and a few others. For your inseam you want a 58cm frame, other things like stem length can be varied to fit your torso and arm length.

If you are looking for used you should be able to get 105 components.
