...some stars based on criteria? Does such a program exist? I have & use Celestia, but the most it's capable of is eliminating stars of a certain luminosity or beyond a certain range. A searchable graphic representation of the stars where stars you're not looking for can be removed would be ideal. Anyone? :-?
It would also be quite handy if I could find a utility that contains a table of stars and their positions in 3D space, and that can calculate the distance from any given point in space to the various stars around it. I.e., I can tell that Sol is 4.3 light years away from Rigil Kentaurus A & Sol is also 16.7 LY from Altair - but how far are Rigil Kentaurus A & Altair from one another?
I'm not asking that question for you to answer it, mind you, I'm just asking it as an example to make clear what I'm looking for.
