I think mines may have went out and i might need it replaced. So are starter solenoids on 90 firebirds on the starter or is it separate? are they easily replaced?

Sorry i was raised by my Grandmother so i dont know anything about cars :(
Because my headlights come on....the high beams come on too. I have a 7in flip screen and all that works. It just clicks when i try to start it. This guy at my job looked it for me and he's good with cars. so will the repair be easy to do? Is there another way to get the car started while its bad?

Im getting a jump at 1 so hopefully that will work.

The solenoids on GM starters have always been on the starter.
Why do you think your solenoid is bad? Have you checked your battery connections? This is most commonly what will cause poor starting performance.

yes it is mounted on starter, easy to replace but a rebuilt starter is not expensive it will have new solenoid and be cheaper in the long run, what makes you think its just the solenoid?

The thing is, they may no longer be seperate as they once were. You may have to buy the entire starter. Phone into dealership, ask for parts department and ask parts department regarding 98 Firebird , is the starter solenoid a seperate part or is it combined into the starter? They will tell you what is what.
