I have been looking in my chilton manual and it doesn't describe very well where my starter is located or the solenoid. Is the solenoid in part of the starter? I am also confused about if the solenoid switch is part of that as well or if it is separate? My car is experiencing occasional starting problems and I am trying to troubleshoot it myself. I was advised to tap on the starter and the solenoid to see if that would get it to start or rule them out.
