Sadness descends like a blanket of snow
Interring her heart in is cold intense glare
Tears frozen somewhere between her ribs
Unshed although bidden to make some repair
Bleak eyes seeking darkness, light intercedes
Squinting, she tries to develop a clue
Her interpretation of human needs
Does not include in it a thing about you
She silently sacrificed her happiness
And told you to go... Don’t come back again
I fear in your presence her life will regress
The way you treated her caused severe pain
She is a survivor, don’t worry your head
She’ll land on her feet, and be smiling by morn
Forgetting words hoped for yet never said
Her psyche a little bent, quite a bit torn
Just one minor blip on the large radar screen
A rock on the roadway to hell and beyond
Wedged your memory firmly between
And tossed it vehemently into the pond
