Where is the key sensor of a Mazda 6 located?!?

I am not sure , put the spare key in the ignition on the left side on the side panel or under the dash board there is a alarm switch or button you hold the Switch or button down turn the key on an off for 2mins see what happens
 
So the sensor for my key broke today on my 2008 Mazda 6. I know its not the key, cuz it still lights up, and both my key and the spare key wont work. So where is the sensor on the car for the key located?! and what could it be that I need to fix it? I dont want to take it to the Mazda repair shop cuz i cant lose my car for a number of days, and its not an urgent thing, but i would like to fix it. so please help!
