where is the heat sensor in a ford focus zts 2002 ?

i have a ford focus zts 2002 and it overheats after 30-40 minutes what i have notice is that the fans dont turn on. they only turn when i have the ac on.. i realy dont know bout mechanic but to my knowlege i think is the heat sensor. but i been looking for it but cant find it.. does ne one knows where it is located plz i need help... ty
