Where is the "Check Engine" light reset on a 1996 Suzuki Sidekick?

Recently a contributor told me about the check engine light reset switch being below the steering column, on a 1996 Suzuki Sidekick (Thanks Don W.).
However I lack the knowledge to find it. Can anyone narrow it down a bit? Is it close to the dash? or under the hood? When you answer feel free to assume. I'm as dumb as I appear.
