Where is the CD Player in my 2005 Dodge Neon?!?

My corolla (1998) has "CD" on a button on its cassette stereo and my disc player is in my trunk because I put one there. Some stereos were designed to be compatible with factory disc players, but you could opt to have it or not. Factory stuff is always overpriced. There was no discplayer in my car before my aftermarker installation. I'm happier with a 10-disk changer anyway. That's good for 300-400 miles the way I drive and then I reload the changer with 10 other discs at the rest stop and stretch my legs so I can make another 400 miles by nightfall. Check with Dodge to see what they're asking for a factory disc player. My Koss was less than $200. It's Ok for books on disc. While you have a cassette player, take a look at MP3 players and a cassette adapter. That might serve you better than a disc player- cheaper and simpler. I put 14 hours of music and stories on an MP3 player and drove from the SanFrancisco bay area to Wyoming and Colorado last summer. By Elko , Nevada, I wanted just a bit of quiet. I got through all that and sampled some local stations accross Utah on the return. You have all those options.

good bet someone took it out and stuck that one in its place should have seen that before buying it when you was checking its shape was to check every button and switch did you check the oil and transmission levels

No, this question is not a joke please keep reading...
I bought a 2005 dodge neon yesterday and was surprised when i looked down to see a tape player rather than a cd player. The car was made 4 years ago and it has a tape player? Anyway, upon further inspection, i noticed some buttons which said "disc" on them right under the radio. Now, I'm thinking..where the hell is this cd player at? I've heard of them sometimes being installed in trunks, but i look there and didn't find it. can someone help me?

go to a junk yard and just pull a "new" unit. the parts that are usually mounted in the trunk are the receivers (radios)...good luck!
