Where is the best place to live at Camp Pendleton?

My husband and I are PCSing to Camp Pendleton at the end of the month. What area is the best to live (fallbrook, Vista, Oceanside, Carlsbad, etc)?

And if anyone lives or lived there, do you have any apartment recommendations?
I was at Oceanside a few months ago...it seems kinda strip-clubby to me, but maybe I was just in a weird area.
 
As previously stated, Oceanside is your best bet. I had an apartment right on the beach, within walking distance of clubs and restaurants.

The clubs were anything from dance to strip clubs, and the restaurants were mainly seafood, but there were some good places. It made my time in the Corps that much more enjoyable.
