where exactly do you find the key code for an 82 suzuki gs650 motorcycle ignition?

looking to buy an 82 suzuki gs650 from someone, but they lost their key to the bike, and they have the title, but they don't know diddly squat about a motorcycle and i am needing to know where to tell them to look for the code to have a new key cut for it.
