The cost of hosting the olympics is borne by the host nation.
The host nation gets some of this money back from increased tourism and exposure, but who gets the billions of dollars from merchanchise, ticketing, TV broadcast rights, sponsorship etc.
Does the olympic movement have a philanthropic branch where they dish out the profits to charity or is there some big corporation behind it that it just getting money from all this.
