where does the clone wars series (cgi) fit in the timeline of star wars is it

directly after episode 2? I know the first season of the clone wars (hand drawn) takes places between episode 2 and 3. directly before three is where it ends.
 
Episode 2 ends with the beginning of the The Clone Wars. Episode 3 is more or less post Clone Wars.
