I have an '89 C1500 single cab, longbed, fleetside truck with a 350 (5.7L) and 700R4 tranny. I have already installed many aftermarket performance parts (the whole top end of the engine). She came with a stock air cleaner and a K&N filter. I was thinking of switching to a cold air intake. I see that the duct goes into the passenger sidewall in the engine but I'm not sure where the air is drawn from outside of there. Does it it come in from behind the wheel well or somewhere else under the truck. Is a cold air kit (feeding from the same location) going to be worth the power gain? Will it really draw colder/more air than the stock system which already draws from outside of the engine bay?
