Where do they put you if your threaten suicide during boot camp?

I'm asking this because back when my husband was in Boot Camp, someone went crazy and just sat down and refused to move on, so they put him on suicide watch and then moved him somewhere else. This was around week 2 of boot camp.

When my husband came back, he found out that that kid was only JUST getting home...meaning he was being kept somewhere for the remaining 11 weeks of boot camp.

Where were they keeping him and what was he doing? I heard someone mention something like RSP? What does that mean?
oh wait, RSP is recruit seperation platoon...what's that.

They keep you there and just have a couple other guys follow you around and make sure you don't kill yourself. They can keep you there a LONG time until you either give up on the "I want to kill myself" act and start training. If they think you're serious or you don't crack then they'll kick your ass out.

If you're really suicidal then you will be sent to the hospital so they can keep an eye on you.

Once you are stable for discharge you may get sent back to base to a separation platoon where all the recruits are who are awaiting to be separated from boot camp for one reason or another.
