Where do people usually go to get tested for a STD?

I know it sounds like a dumb question but where do people usually go? I may have herpes and was wondering if I should go to a clinic or a hospital? There are clinics near me I believe but they are usually crowded and I don't want anyone I know to see me there, as with a hospital its kind of crowded but probably won't see anyone I know. Any ideas on this?
well what if I don't have a doctor anymore? lol I know sounds bad but I havn't seen a doctor in like 4 years maybe.
 
a free clinic in your area, if you dont know where one is located google the name of your town followed by "free clinic"
 
well whats more important? being embarrassed or ur health? its not like anyone will know the reason ur there.... no ones going to think anything of u, cause if they are there too, they're not the ones to talk. if u make an appointment u wont have to wait, you'll just walk in and they should take u in right away... instead of being a walk in and waiting all day....
 
You could go to Planned Parenthood, but like you said it might be crowded. Just go to your regular doctor, but it will cost more than Planned Parenthood.
