Most new cars have their fuel pump inside the fuel tank. Based on 2001 Civic, the fuel filter (cylindrical shape about 1.5"-2" diameter nad 3"-4" Long) is underneath the vehicle near the tank on one of the fuel lines. Electrical connections are either behind the RHS rear seat (in the trunk) or under the rear seat. you should be able to hear the pump come on (Slight buzzing coming from the rear) if you turn the ignition key to position 1. You'll need to drop your fuel tank to replace your fuel pump.

Does anyone know where I can locate the wire for the fuel pump for my 01 honda civic ex? I'm trying to make a kill switch but have no idea where the wire is located at. Anyone?

Under dashboard, there is main relay which to turn fuel pump on and off by the computer, locate it under the steering column, says MITSUBA main relay on it.

try running a lead from the hot wire in the fuel pump relay, that will kill the relay when the swicth is off and cut the power to the fuel pump even if the car is in the on position.
