I'm sixteen and i've been dubbed as 'gifted' in visual arts since i was little. I've never really taken much of an interest into pursuing visual arts till recently. I know i want to become a cartoonist and I try at it everyday. However, I find myself lacking beneficial knowledge on stuff ranging from colored pencil techniques to proper measurements for creating human characters. Does anybody know any reliable sources i could get information from (books, helpful websites, etc.)? Most websites i have found aren't very helpful and the art classes im taking don't really lay out any helpful information as much as they do overshadow your work.
