the key such as a stereo? I am installing some electronics in my 85' s10 and i only want the electronics to have power only when the key is turned to the acc or when the truck is running.... some of the things that i am wiring is my memory wire on my cd player, and an aftermarket antenna booster for my stereo.. i might want to hook others up later... so where do i hook the wires up to my turck so they will only work when the ignition is on or when it is running.. thanks
the antenna booster does have a on and off, though if i have it on and i turn off the truck it make my battery dead if i wired to the battery
didnt mean memory wire for stereo, i meant acc wire

You will probably have "accessory" power slots available at your fuse box under the dash. Otherwise, you can tap directly into the accessory wire at the key switch harness, or behind the radio itself. It's a good idea to put a fuse on any new wire you add, near the point where you tap it.

Your radio "memory" wire needs to be connected to constant power, not key-switched power.
