my mother's roommate for 20 years is trying to claim homestead on her house now that she passed away. She left the house to me. Is it possible that I may have to let him keep the house? Or stay in the house?Will I have to forfeit my mothers things to him?

I have hired a lawyer and he has assured me I have nothing to worry about. Yet I spoke with another attorney and he said I should be very concerned I could have a big problem. I am torn as to who I should I listen to. Should I hire a different attorney?

You need to hire a lawyer, not rely on free advice. Your problem may be complicated.
