I live in Delano California and my mother just became ill, I'll be having to quit my job so I can care for her, She'll was operated on, for a brain tumor and needs constant assistance getting around. Getting up, going to the bathroom, and everything a normal person does. I need to quit my job for this task, but, I have many bills my self that will not go away. where do I go to get the proper papers so I don't spend too much time running around, I can't leave her by herself much and I can't be taking her with me when it's going to be time consuming. Please help.
My mother had to stop working too, as she is no longer able to work, she also needs assistance with medical bills and her regular bills that keep coming even though she's not working, she was a farm worker, was low income, and now has no income at all.

You can claim her as a dependent on your income taxes but don't expect the government to pay you for taking care of your own mother. I don't know of any program that does that, perhaps you can get food stamps depending on the circumstances/income level.

you might try enrolling her in medicare. she deserves that at least because i know ranchers and farmers rough it out alot. get part d and maybe part b if she is diabetic. i really feel for you because you are a good son. I would also make sure she takes her medications properly because insurance are very picky about the refills and all that. Also , make sure you call her dr office a week in advance before she runs out of refills. If it is difficult to afford the meds go to your pharmacy and ask for the 4 dollar list and show that to her doctor.

You can also try financing with the bank and get a loan to pay back all your bills, therefore you would be stuck with one bill. You can also try enrolling in school for a few months to a year to get some low interest loans. When I was in college I was offered 30K a year but only took 4k for the tuition.

If you can save try to but do not be too frugal. Try to make your grocery shopping on your way to work or whatever place, therefore you will save on gas. You can change your lightbulbs to the halogen ones and that will save some money for you. However , for me most of the electrical consumption comes from the fridge , therefore if you can try to get a energy efficient one.You can also try turning down the setting but things might spoil faster. In the winter if it gets cold keep the heater on near at 70. This will save energyinstead of turning it on and off continuosly. Another thing if possible she can work by selling things on ebay that is one of my uncles profession and he now owns a house and a new car

If you want to you can ask for help at a school, church, and family members or friends. I know it is hard
