Was it in common use before the movie "How Stella got her Groove Back"?
I ask because on a recent episode of Entourage, Ari Gold dates a younger girl, who suggests he might get his groove back. Ari replies "Stella did" and the girl doesn't understand the reference. I had always assumed the phrase came from the movie.
