i have a sister who is in bryan texas women's prison camp and my mom is fed up cause she has been sending my sis books, magazines, crossword puzzles etc. and my sis hasn't received them and it usually takes only 1 week and it has been going on for a mth. So my mom thinks by now if my sis can't accept them they should sent them back, right?

Not necessarily. Who should pay for the postage in that situation? This would be expensive and time consuming. Prison facilities don't really have an interest in doing this. It's understandable that family members want to send care packages, but it's important to remember that this is prison . . . not summer camp. The prison doesn't have a vested interest in leaving its customers satisfied or happy with the overall service.

My guess is that if these are items that your sister is not permitted to have, they will be held for her until she is released but they might be returned to your mother postage due. I'd suggest that maybe your mother should get a list of approved items that can be sent to your sister before sending the next care package.

If the mailroom denies them for some reason both the receipient and the sender receive notification of this decision.

The inmate can contact the mail room supervisor or the person on the outside can contact the warden.

Wrong, if is considered illegal or contraband according to the prison system, they will not pay return postage to send them back, they will throw them away.

Have your Mom contact them and find out exactly EXACTLY what can and cannot be sent.
