Where can I take a 'part-time' motorcycle mechanics/maintenance course?

I live in Bristol (the South West of England) and I'd really love to take a course that will allow me to maintain and repair my own motorcycle. I don't want a career in it so a full time 3 yr thing probably won't be the best idea - just something I can do in my free time.
Local colleges don't seem to offer any mechanical training for motorbikes and I've tried to google some classes but no such luck...
Any suggestions??

You might be able to work at your local MC shop on weekends, helping out, and getting showen what to do
Hope this gives a few ideas

Join pb mag forum we will teach yer or just e mail me!
A haynes manual and your dad is a good start.
If you are still struggling i will give me your e mail address.
Good luck!
Ps you would be surprised how easy a lot of it is.

Get an old honda 50-70-90 or an old motorbike cheap.... and then put an advert in ya local paper asking wanna-be bike mechanics or teenagers willing to learn bike mechanics......state you need help in restoring an old moped/bike......and i bet ya someone will turn up who knows more than you. Theres a lad who was one hellava mechanic...Stuart from Pucklechurch.....but i lost contact with him 30 odd years ago.
