where can i study cosmology in north east england?

im 29 from newcastle area and currently unemployed due to the way the economy is..ive decided to go back to further education and try and do something ive been interested since i was a child,which is cosmology and astronomy..i havent got a clue how to go about this or were i can go to be educated..if anybody has any infomation for me it is apprieciated..thanx
 
I don't know the answer to your question, but I'd like to wish you well! Many cosmologists these days have a background in physics, so you might want to start there. And don't give up, cosmology is not an easy path, but to really understand how the universe works, that's worth almost anything, isn't it?
 
I've got to give you the heads up. It is an extremely competitive field, and the odds are against you being about 10 years older than the normal undergraduate.

But I wish you all the best of luck. I think it's wonderful when people realize their dreams.
