Where can i keep tropical fish for 24 hours before moving them into their tank?

I'm moving them and their tank from one home to another and will have to replace their water and filter and everything. I've been told to leave them 24 hours before placing them in. I have plans just to have them in a bucket during the move and putting them in once set up, although this however cannot be the case.

What can i do with them?
