Where can i go on the internet to learn about cars?

I've never really known too much about the mechanics of a car. But since im about to buy my first car I decided i wanted to know. I was thinking about repairing an old mustang.
 
The best way to start repairing an old mustang is to get the shop manual for that particular make, model of car. From this you can at least learn to ask meaningful questions of friends who do know somewhat about mechanics in general.

Even when you know a lot about mechanics in general, you will still need to refer to the shop manual for the car in front of you.
Note that the owners manual is not a shop manual. You may need both.
