My son turned 2 in august so he is not even 26 months yet and he is so smart you wouldn't believe it. He can not only say his alphabet but he can actually identify nearly every single letter in it. You can even put the letters out of order and he will stil tell you what they are. he knows about five colors and he can say/identify his numbers 1-14 he draws really in-depth smiliey faces that include: eyes with dots in the center of them, a circle for a notice, an oval for a mouth with a line going through the cente of it to distinguish that there are two lips, 2 circles for ears, hair that he sometimes draws from one ear to the next, and two lines going down the bottomof it to represent his neck. He can point out and sometimes speak the identification of the shapes: heart, star, square, triangle, circle, sun, moon, and diamond. He can also draw a heart and a circle and he writes the #'s 1,2,3,4,6,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,on comand. i won't say that its perfect in any way but it is readable to anybody.
Genius Right?
Well there is a down side to my sons intellegience, he doesn't speak very well he is actually in speech therapy classes because he can't ask questions or tell me what he wants, He can't identify a lot of objects on his own and when he does he sometimes mixes up the sounds. For example he knows is numbers but he can't say the number 7 for some reason he calls it 9. the nuber 8 he calls it "a" Though he can't say some of his letters correctly that doesn't mean he doesn't try he's developed his own little sound for them and i as his mother can tell exactly what he is saying. If you mix up these numbers on a piece of paper with up to 20 different numbers on them then he will point out whatever number you want him to
He is aslo an exceptionally fast learner he learned to say every single capitalized letter of the alphabet in about a month.
i know he's smart and i was even told that is dawing skills are at a 5 year level alone. i want to get his IQ tested just becaue i am curious where would i get this done at.
my son is not autistic he has had a lot of ear infections growng up and i think that maybe it messed up his hearing whichdelayed his speech
his doctor has also told me that he is showing no signs of autism
