where can i get a free book of the history of Christianity?

History: Once upon a time there were people who were minding their own business, then they heard loud screams. Over the hill came a bunch of christians with swords. They slaughtered the village for following a god different than theirs and then destroyed all they could to prevent anyone else from learning of that religion.

Practices: Murdering "heathens"

Beliefs: Believe what we do or we'll kill you.

There, I summed it up for you.

You can get a new testament gideon bible at pretty much any place they hand them out (Acts is the main book of early church history). Other than that, I'm not sure if there are many free books that contain the early chuch's history.

I would caution you to gather more than one source. The Roman Catholics have their own version of history which I would deem spiritually dangerous; historically inaccurate and misleading. And you could probably add a few other denominations to that as well, it's just that Roman Catholics had centuries of revision under their belts along with many reasons to demonize people still going on to this day. Mind you, they've also controlled education in much of Europe over the centuries.

Controlling education does not mean being truthful, if you can catch that in what I'm saying.

I find Bible Encyclopedias helpful as well. They might go beyond the New Testament (the Christian church), but that can help fashion for you some background as to why some denominations formed.
