...system for free? Well, the battery won't charge and I'm trying to get a diagram of the charger system preferably from the owners manual so I can look where the alternator is and possibly replace it. I'm looking for possibly a PDF of this from the manual or anything, Thanks in advance!
I've been trying all over google for 45 minutes with no avail.
 
Surely in one of the many HD forums someone has posed this question and someone else has shared the file with them. If not, perhaps someone in this group has a service manual that they would be willing to scan, upload and email to you. I have a service manual for a 2006, but have no scanner, copier, or access to either. (it cannot be THAT different)
There is a lady technician,... "Janice"; I would be willing to bet she has the schematic and the means to send it to you. She's pretty sharp.(maybe she'll see this)
Outfits like "Cycle Electric" make components for Harley and may even email you the diagram... if you strike out everywhere else call them on Monday.(?)
Another option is your local public library; They would not charge much for photocopies of the pages if they have the service manual. -Or they may even have a materials sharing system with libraries all over the nation(?) Its worth a try.
 
Go to your local library. If your battery is not charging it could be the voltage regulator.
