Where can I find information/case law regarding a landlord breaching a lease

You do not indicate the reasons for this lease breach. However, I will assume that you did nothing which would legally allow such a breach. Case law on such situations varies widely, depending on the state in which you reside. Landlord/tenant laws are different from state to state.

Generally speaking, however, and under the assumption that the breach was clearly illegal, you may bring an action in small claims court to recover damages you may have incurred. Such damages would include double moving expenses, storage charges as well as excess accommodation charges if you had to stay in a motel until new accommodations were found. Do not expect to receive any punitive settlement money.

before move in? Landlord voided my lease on the day I was supposed to move in breaching our contract.

Where can I find case law, or any information in general about this specific topic. Most sites only cover landlord suing tenant not vise versa... is there a legal term for this that should be searching for?

Landlord breaching lease on move in day no prior notice, clause in lease states 30 days must be given to void or terminate lease.

I don't even need specific state information, anything in general will help because I can't find anything where the tenant is suing the landlord for breach prior to move in.

Each county should have a public law library available to you. They are located near the Superior court house. They are free to use and inexpensive to make copies in. You can not remove any of the books, only make copies.
