Where can i find bike parts that are free or cost a little bit of money?

Im trying to build a bmx for fun, but i don't have the money to spend a lot on it.
 
yopur best bet will be a bicycle co-op. They usually have a ton of parts that they will sell next to nothing, the local one in cincinnati has something like a 20$ cover charge to "become a member" and after that you can go sign in and use what you want to work on your bike. That being said, youll still be on your own as far as figuring out what parts are compatible with what and how to make everything work. Theres a lot more that goes into bicycle mechanics than one might think.

The question is do you have a co-op anywhere near you. They probably wont be listed in the yellow pages or anything like that, i would try googling bike co-op with your citys name. Our co-op here has been around for a few years now and there are still tons of people who have never heard of them.
