Where can I find a newspaper that publishes poetry?

Are you in the UK?

If so, there are journals like Magma, the Frogmore Papers, Ambit, Poetry Express, Smiths Knoll, and more. You should check out their websites -- they might all have different rules (i.e. submit only by post, or submit only by email, etc).

Newspapers generally don't do poetry. I think those type of journals are your best bet.

If you're not in the UK, do an online search for poetry journals in your country. You can still submit to the UK ones of course, if you want. Good luck.

I recently wrote a poem that I would like to see published in a newspaper simply because I would like to see if it would make it that far. However, After calling The Village Voice and receiving on the other end a snippy woman who said these dreaded four words, "We don't publish poetry!" Well! I was wondering just who in fact DOES publish poetry so I could get mine published instead of letting it rot in my hard drive for eternity... I would greatly appreciate any help on this matter...
