why not clean it and then why not rebuild it there after if its not broken you dont need a new one that would be such a waste of money when they dont go bad every offen in a life time but they do get dirty first then after a few years the start leaking or sucking air they then need to be rebuilt most carbs 50 years old dont need anything but cleaning so remove it take it a part lay it all out on a table clean it with carb cleaner might cost you 10 bucks or less
