Where can I buy a cool prepaid cellphone?

I want a cool cellphone that is mainly used for texting since im a textaholic. Since location myt matter it needs to be able to work in california.. I want to buy the cellphone in missouri though. So yupp. And i wanted to buy the sidekick but its too exspensive and not prepaid.. well i heard it can be prepaid but its still exspensive... So i want a phone i can use for texting like a slide phone or blackberry i found good phones in walmart.. but i wanna be shur that i know all my options... so plz any ideas? and not ugly ones haha
