Where are we coming from? Does it differ from culture to culture?

A friend of mine and I discussed about the origins of the human race. We talked about us being in Africa first and being primates and all the bla bla bla and wondered...what about the other cultures? Where do they think we're all coming from and how they end up where they are now? Every cultures has a different way to think no? For us, like I said earlier, we we're teached that we all come from Africa and we were primates that evolved. What about you...what were you teached or told?
 
I believe that we evolved from primapes into caveman but why have we not evolved more since then? were cleaner and smarter but look the same ...........
