Where are these "American People" that WANT corporations to not pay taxes?!?

I'm pretty convinced that for anything to really change everyone must have skin in the game. If 50% aren't paying fed income tax, then....

I love how "the rich" have become this awful boogeyman thanks to the democrats. Their "fair share"

For most Americans, Tea Partiers are those who dress up in period costumes and yell at eachother in conference rooms.

They're a joke.

So we let taxes expire and the major airlines increase fares

corporations don't pay taxes. people pay taxes. corporate taxes are paid by shareholders, employees, and customers.

I don't remeraber the threshold but you get the largest chunk of your benefit on a very low wage, meaning if you're poor and make $30,000/year (adjusted for inflation) for life, you're going to get a bigger bang for your buck compared to someone who maxes out their SS earnings year after year.

That said, the first guy is probably going to die a shitload sooner statistically.

Such a durab thread

GE's nominal tax rate is 30% but their actual rate is negative (ie, taxpayers gave them a ton of money).

Increasing the nominal rates to 40, 50, even 70% is not going to do shit, they still aren't going to pay.

Drop the rate to 0% and then smaller companies can compete with GE on a slightly more even playing field.

OR Keep the current rates and ACTUALLY MAKE GE PAY THE RATE

Anything else is just smoke and mirrors

dawt. To sum it all up, maybe it's our "Government"!

It was so refreshing to hear Obama on his campaign trail talk about the Change that I wanted to believe in. That was like telling us we were gonna be able to touch the moon, knowing all along that all we were gonna be able to do is reach for it. What an awesome campaign stratedgy though and it worked for him.

Do you know what kind of person proclaims his own arguments as great? The kind of person too stupid to understand what a good argument is.

This is just a radical thought that will never happen but what if people just stopped voting period for all elections including the local ones?

People gathering together in groups during elections holding up Don't vote signs. This would go on for maybe four years or better or until we seen some change in the right direction etc.

In hinRABight, what do you think would happen? or might happen as a result?

Seriously, the "people who don't agree with me are a conservaderp/libtard" argument has to be the most tired political argument in the history of the Internet.

I'm not interested in raising taxes on genuine small business, and very little on medium sized businesses. I would be for more government grants and loans to people who want to start a business that hires people and creates jobs.

But here's the ultimate reality: Businesses don't create jobs. Demand creates jobs. If there is enough demand, someone will step in to fill the void. I'm all for making it easier for that to be the middle class, rather than random megacorporation #2735S4, but ultimately, just having the money or ability to start a business, no matter how easy the initial creation is, doesn't mean the business has any merit or will last. Making a business that there is no demand for isn't useful.

By the way, if you're in favor of simplifying the tax code and simultaneously closing loopholes, you're contradicting yourself.

But it certainly is a nice sounding solution until it's met with some technical scrutiny.

All those investments will be cashed at some point so they will get caught by income tax...
